Smash the Champagne Bottle On The Side Of This Ship!
This event is inspired by Launch the Ship, a fanworks event for people wanting to post the first work for a ship on AO3. Since there's been no word on whether it's running this year and people have expressed interest in having such an event, we are providing an alternative in the same vein.
This version of the event is so named for the custom of breaking a bottle of champagne against the side of a new boat before it first sets sail.

What do you have to do to participate?
It's easy...just pick a ship that doesn't have any works on AO3 and get to work on a fic of any length!
